Why: Record setting tribute to Art Berg (www.artberg.com) who was a well respected motivational speaker for manyFortune 500 companies. He unfortunately passed away in 2002. “He influenced many, including me and my family atthe hospital when I was first injured in 1993,” says Nichols. “That same year he set a record by pushing his race chairfrom SLC to St George, Utah (325 miles). I later told Art that his push inspired me to work harder to gain independenceand that one day I wanted to do a push like his. With encouragement, he challenged me to go further---to exceed hismark, to go the ‘extra mile.’” That day has come, and I am ready to challenge the push—to exceed the mark—to honor Art Berg and the concept ofthe “power of one.” This wheelchair push will serve as a tribute to him and as an act of appreciation to my family and friends who support me in accomplishing what I once said I would do—Invictus Tour 2008 is on its way.
